Oil & Lng Tankers & Drilling Platforms
Safety & Security window Film installations for Oil & LNG Tankers & Drilling platforms as a precaution against possible piracy attack and also as an additional safety feature against accidental glass breakage.
It’s an unfortunate fact these days that Piracy and terror attacks are likely throughout the world, Safety and Security Window Film installations are a quick and cost-effective solution to reinforcing your glazing against these types of attacks.
It will also provides enhanced protection and additional safety and security from accidents and the risks caused by possible impact and collision from heavy moving machinery to the glass and glazing on Oil & LNG Tankers & Drilling platforms.
The high tensile safety & security bomb blast window film we install stretches and gives with the force of impact without tearing & can absorb a large part of any shock wave therefore reducing the dangers posed by broken glass and other flying debris,Even if the glass is blown, knocked or smashed out it will do so in one piece and will contain any broken glass shards as they are held together by the film itself, therefore, reducing the risk of serious injury and damage to property.
We have over 30 year experience installing these types of film and have successfully installed safety and security window film to the glazing on 24 oil & LNG tankers for Shell in docks or offshore around the world in France, Spain, Holland, Singapore, Portugal, Gibraltar and the UAE and we have also installed the safety and security film to several administration and accommodation buildings in Algiers, Algeria for Hess, Statoil and BP and most recently to all the glazing to the Cajun Express Drilling platform for Transocean in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria.
Sample window with safety and security film installed then the window broken to test the film.
The safety & security window film we install not only enhances your protection from possible “blast” damage and terror or piracy attacks but will also offer protection to your staff/crew from possible injury from impact or collision from heavy moving machinery IE cranes etc.
All our films are cut on site and professionally installed by our own fully qualified and accredited installers and NOT by third party sub-contractors and carry a full 10 year manufactures warranty we also thoroughly clean the outside of the window/glazing we have fitted the film to where there is ready access and it is safe to do so.
The film is usually installed to the internal side of the glass. It stretches and gives with the force of impact without tearing & can absorb a large part of any shock wave. Even if the glass is blown, knocked or smashed out it will do so in one piece because it is held together by the film, therefore, reducing the risk of serious injury.

Tanker blast ‘a terror attack’
An investigation confirmed that a tanker damaged by a blast in the Strait of Homuz had been the victim of a terrorist attack.
The incident bears similarities to the case of the tanker Limburg, which was rammed by a boat packed with explosives off the coast of Yemen in October 2002. Tanker owners naturally remain concerned at any development that could put crew, ship and cargo at risk, and thereby also threaten to interrupt the flow of free trade.
